Temperatures set to soar in Mayo with thunderstorms possible

Mayo looks set for another warm and mostly sunny day on Wednesday, April 30, with temperatures expected to reach highs of 20 to 23 degrees.

Light southerly breezes will keep conditions pleasant for most of the day.

However, the fine weather could be briefly interrupted later in the afternoon and evening, as there's a chance of heavy or thundery showers developing across the region.

Looking ahead to Wednesday night, any showers are expected to clear early, giving way to dry and clear skies.

Cloud will thicken overnight, especially in the northwest, bringing patchy drizzle to parts of Connacht. Mist and fog may form in some areas.

Temperatures will drop to between 7 and 11 degrees, with light winds shifting to a northerly direction by morning.

While the week starts warm, conditions are expected to turn cooler from Thursday onwards as high pressure continues to dominate, bringing more settled weather with only light rainfall.
