HSE opens Covid-19 testing centre in Mayo

THE HSE has today opened a Covid-19 testing centre in Mayo.

It is located at the Castlebar Leisure Centre, off Lannagh Road in the town, which opened last year.

All tests are subject to GP referral and people are being asked not to present at the Castlebar centre without a scheduled appointment.

Those suffering from symptoms of Covid-19 (typically dry cough and a fever) should ring their GP who will arrange a test if that is what their doctor believes is necessary.

Healthcare workers have been trained to carry out the screening.

People referred for testing will have their appointments confirmed by text message and will be given details of when they should present.
